About us

Steve Pearson entered the construction trade at 15, working for local builders in his home town of Macclesfield. After a few years he followed a career change into the sales industry but, missing the hands-on satisfaction he found in building work, he soon returned to the trade as a roofer in Macclesfield joining a local roofing company in 1988.

After 14 successful years with this company, Steve had gained sufficient knowledge, experience and skills to set up his own business - Ace Roofing Contractors. As a result of Steve’s hard work, commitment to quality and personal integrity, the business has gone from strength to strength ever since.

Not only have the materials evolved over the years – from untreated battens, steel nails and F1 tar-based felt technology to pressure treated batons, galvanised shank and breatheable felts – Steve’s reputation as a trustworthy and reliable local roofer has grown, giving Ace Roofing a great reputation throughout Macclesfield and the surrounding areas.

With a strong focus on high quality workmanship, honesty and customer satisfaction, Ace Roofing carry out reactive and planned jobs of all sizes for a variety of domestic and commercial customers.

Steve personally carries out or oversees every aspect of the work and will keep in close contact with you every step of the way. Every care is taken to ensure minimal disruption to the customer and that all sites are left clean and tidy.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can I claim roof repair on insurance?
Insurance will frequently pay a portion of the cost of roof repairs, but it is highly unusual for them to do so completely. If the roof was in excellent condition prior to being damaged and the cause of the damage is covered, full coverage may be granted.
  • How much does it cost to repair a roof?
The size and type of the roof, as well as other variables, can have a significant impact on the price of roof repairs. Calling us to set up a roof assessment so we can give you a free, no-obligation quotation is the best course of action if you're interested in roof repair.
  • How much are gutter repairs?
Gutter repairs typically cost less than roof repairs, but the only way to know for sure is to get in touch with us and arrange for a free inspection from a member of our highly qualified team.
  • What options are available if I need to reroof?
There are two options: You can choose to entirely replace your roof system by removing it, or you can choose to cover the old roof with a new one. You should seek professional advice before making a decision as you are typically only permitted one re-cover before you require a full replacement.
  • How long can I expect my roof to last?
Most roofing systems have a 20-year lifespan. The lifespan of several roofing materials, including slate, clay tiles, and other metals, can be significantly extended, sometimes adding decades to your roof’s lifespan. A good way to make sure your roof lasts you as long as possible is to select the best materials from a qualified roofing contractor.
  • Will a flat roof allow rain to run off it?
To prevent water from accumulating on your roof, a flat roof is typically constructed with a slight inclination that allows any rainwater to simply drain down the roof and into the gutter. Our fibreglass flat roofs are a popular method of directing rainwater into the gutter.
  • If my roof is leaking, do I need a full replacement?
Although a leaky roof is undoubtedly a stressful thing, you may not need to replace your entire roof. The extent of the damage the leak has caused will determine how much repair work is required. If you're unclear, it's better to speak to an expert to determine whether a simple repair or a complete roof replacement are needed.
  • How long does it take to repair or replace a roof?
Depending entirely on the size and composition of your roof, it may take anywhere from a few hours and a few days to repair or replace it. Furthermore, it will depend on the roofing contractor you select to work with. Our team are very knowledgeable and efficient, and we’ll always aim to carry out the work quickly and effectively.
  • Do I need to empty my loft before work commences?
There is no need to clear the loft, but you should cover or move any valuables or perishables to protect them from dust damage.
  • Do you need access to the house?
No, not always. As long we have access to power and water we can carry out the work without entering your home, ensuring that all disturbances such as noise, vibration and debris are kept to a minimum throughout the work.
  • Do you install the scaffolding yourself?
No, we use local scaffold contractors, registered with the local authorities, for all jobs. We’ll discuss this aspect of the job with you when we carry out a free, no-obligation quotation.
